1937-1950 pre-date code zippo with baseball player batting on the case. This corroded beauty was unearthed in a barn in Kansas in very bad shape. The internals were in good shape (original rag wick and cotton), but the flint was removed and replaced with a new one.
The case was heavily corroded, so it was stripped, cleaned and polished until the design came back from under the rust - taking off that much corrosion took the main panel of the lighter down to the brass metal under the brushed chrome finish. The rest of the lighter was left in worn and original condition.
The lighter cap closes and snaps, but is a little wobbly. Overall the lighter is functional and a hell of a conversation piece in the right owner's hand. Will YOU be that owner? Great gift for that Zippo enthusiast that likes older lighters with history, this one has seen some miles!
The lighter will be shipped to you with no fluid as per USPS regulation. Add Ronson or Zippo brand liquid lighter fluid and it's ready to put into everyday use.
Another fine vintage item from Steamcrunk.
