1960s Ronson Typhoon windproof lighter made in British Hong Kong - and marked BRITISH EMPIRE MADE on the bottom - rehabbed with new flint and wick. Lighter has the USN US NAVY logo and Anchor on one side, and it is engraved to GARY on the reverse and marked '71 (1971). A gift bought at the PX and engraved by Gary the Sailor while in the Navy most likely.
This lighter was taken apart and the lighter mechanisms cleaned then reassembled and rehabbed with a new zippo brand wick and zippo gold flint. The original cotton packing looked unmarred and was reused. The lighter was then tested with a few drops of lighter fluid on the wick to ensure proper function. Moderate to heavy pocket wear on the flat black finish and gold lid, please see photos to determine condition of exterior for yourself. This is a perfectly functional and well made lighter that will serve you for years to come. The lighter will be shipped to you with no fluid as per USPS regulation. Add Ronson or Zippo brand liquid lighter fluid and it's ready to put into everyday use.
Another fine vintage item from Steamcrunk.
